Wedding bells for Lawless and boyfriend

YORK — Lucy Lawless is altar-bound for the second time.
The star of Xena: Warrior Princess, 29, accepted longtime steady Robert
Tapert's proposal a week ago but revealed the news only this week. Tapert,
42 and never married, is an executive producer of both Hercules and Xena.
Her publicist says the two plan to marry in 1998, probably during the Xena
hiatus in March.
"A total cliche, the producer and the actress," Lawless told USA TODAY in
August, as she began her current Broadway stint as Rizzo in the hit revival
of Grease. "But I don't think he's ever been out with an actress in his
life. We're very happy."
The New Zealander, who finishes on Broadway Oct 19, is divorced from Garth
Lawless. They share custody of a daughter, Daisy, 9.
Meanwhile, Xena's syndicated sibling, Hercules star Kevin Sorbo, is on a
two-month vacation after exiting the film Black Dog. Sorbo, 39, was
hospitalized with an aneurysm, first detected by numbness in his hand. The
actor returned to Black Dog, only to develop an adverse reaction to the
anti-coagulants he was taking. That convinced Sorbo, who had already
filmed 10 new episodes of Hercules, that he needed some rest.
Universal Pitures says it will recast Sorbo's role in Black Dog, which
co-stars Randy Travis and Meat Loaf.
