Warriors On Tour

Lucy Lawless on tour with Dave Dobbyn

She may be best-known to millions as Xena the Warrior Princess. But actress Lucy Lawless, who recently undertook a 15-- date tour of New Zealand with local music icon Dave Dobbyn, says she has long been a frustrated singer. "I don't want to be kicking myself as an old lady, saying, 'I coulda, shoulda, woulda,'" she says. "It doesn't matter if I go down in flames, as long as I had a crack at it." Lawless joined Dobbyn on his annual tour over the Christmas and new year period, performing backup and singing lead on such covers as "Brass in Pocket" and "Oliver's Army." Dobbyn's profile is currently high in New Zealand, as his 1988 hit "Loyal" has become the anthem of the New Zealand America's Cup defenders. Several shows were recorded, and Dobbyn's management say that a live album is a possibility.
