Lucy Lawless Sings "Don't You Feel My Leg" at National Breast Cancer Coalition Fund
 Les Girl 7

The National Breast Cancer Coalition is the nation's largest breast cancer advocacy group with hundreds of member organizations and tens of thousands of individual members.

NBCC's sister organization, the National Breast Cancer Coalition Fund, empowers and trains our members to be effective in every aspect of the fight to end breast cancer. It gives women the tools to make their own informed decisions and to work beside legislative, scientific and clinical decisionmakers. Once trained, these advocates represent NBCC as they influence public policies that impact breast cancer research, diagnosis and treatment.

National Breast Cancer Coalition Fund - Les Girl 7
Event - Meeting Lucy Lawless

by Janna

MaryD: Janna has requested that the portrait she gave to Lucy not be posted online because it was a private special moment - we all have moments like these and it's for Lucy and Janna to enjoy.

My friend Robert and I were waiting outside Avalon for Lucy. The autograph collectors were out in full force and they were waiting too. I had a portrait that I had done for her and was very nervous about giving it to her. I had met Lucy only once before at Comic Con and still go into "freak out mode" when she's right there...does that ever go away?

So our plan was to try to get to her before the collectors did because they wouldn't let you do anything, they would completely monopolize all of her time and I wouldn't have a chance to give her anything (I think the TMZ video proves my point-if I had tried to give her the portrait in that mess it would have gotten destroyed.)

Basically the collectors were looking three different places, some people were walking from across the street, some people were being dropped off, and some people were parking themselves and walking up from there. Well I don't know where the collectors'

attention was when she pulled up, but my Robert and I saw her and casually went over to the lot. Thankfully I had time to give her the drawing, get photos, and we also helped Lucy with her things before she ever came in contact with those guys. Robert is the one in the TMZ video carrying Lucy's garment bag and you can see me with my camera running around the outside as she walks up to them.

Then they walk down the long hall to the bottom steps. I was stupid, I didn't keep going with them inside, it's one of those things where if you don't keep walking with someone then you're not with them anymore. Probably about half a second after I stopped walking I thought "you fool, you should have kept going", but maybe it's better that I didn't go with, don't want to be a bother. Robert came back out and told me that Lucy asked my name again and that he got to walk her all the way to the dressing room and that she kissed him on both cheeks.

When we spoke in the parking lot when I first approached her she told me that she was late but she still didn't seem in a rush when she interacted with us, and we didn't take that long anyway. She loved my drawing and I was very happy that she liked it, of
course. She looked gorgeous in her black dress as everyone has seen by now. I asked her what she was going to sing and she sang the title for me as we were walking... "Don't you Feel my leg" and she smiled big. :)

Well I hadn't heard of it before, but there wasn't time to bring that up to Lucy. I looked it up, here are the lyrics and if you go to this link you can select to listen to a clip of it. It's Blu Lu Barker and it's definitely the Blues. Needless to say I wish I had been able to hear her sing this song.

"Don't you Feel my leg" lyrics

Source

Don't you feel my leg, don't you feel my leg cause
when you feel my
leg your going to feel my thigh and if you feel my
thigh your going
to tell a lie so don't you feel my leg

Don't you drink that wine, don't you drink that wine,
cause when you
drink that wine you'll try and change my mind and if
you change my
mind you'll feel my fine behind, so don't you feel my
leg.

You said you'd take me out like a gentleman- treat me
fine, though I
know that's just something at the back of your mind.
If you keep
drinking oh your going to get fresh and you'll wind up
begging for
this fine, fine flesh.

Don't you feel my leg, don't you feel my leg cause
when you feel my
leg your gonna feel my thigh, and if you feel my thigh
you gonna go
up high, so don't you feel my leg

I took some video of Lucy talking to the press.  Somehow I missed her when she posed for still photos. But she was in a big hurry and I think she only came
out of the club to talk to the press for like 3 minutes tops. You can't hear her really well in the video because there was so much talking all around me when I took it. Sorry about that.

After the event was over Lucy came out and she had helpers from inside the event this time carrying her things. She stopped for me as you can see on the TMZ
video that's online, they didn't include that part on the TV version. She said my name, and I was surprised because we all know that Lucy always talks about
forgetting things and not having a good memory, etc. and she said "Thanks darling" and bent down (I'm short) and gave me a kiss. Then she started signing
for the guys and I asked her to sign my photo op from Comic Con and she stopped for me right after she said she would only sign as she was walking. :) She wrote "To Janna with love Lucy Lawless" and the collectors followed her all the way to the parking lot.

As she drove off she waved goodbye and honked the car horn a couple times and then she was gone... but I was very happy!

She is so incredibly cool.
