This week's Woman's Day has an article on Lucy & Judah (it has several pictures of Lucy and a bundled up Judah).  Many thanks to Leanne from Kiwi Attic for the transcript - the article reads in part:

"Kiwi Actress Lucy Lawless has traded her action hero role for that of Supermum, but it seems the latest addition to her clan, seven-week-old Judah Miro Tapert is proving more than a handful.  Lucy was due to attend the glittering NZ Spider-Man movie premiere, in which she has a cameo role as a punk rocker, but opted instead to stay home with her precious son and take time to recover from Judah's home birth on May 7, While her showbiz work is on hold, Lucy, 34, is a crusader for kids.   She was spotted out with Andrew Young, communications manager of the Starship Foundation, of which she is a patron.  The pair are on the trail of raising $3 million for a heart unit at the Auckland children's hospital

17 February

The following is from the NZ Herald
This weekend, Sky City and the Starship Foundation will launch an advertising and fundraising campaign aimed at helping children and young people at risk of abuse. The appeal, fronted by actor Lucy Lawless, will raise funds to help medical specialists from Starship join police and Child, Youth and Family Services in a multi-agency centre. The first centre of its kind in New Zealand, its aim is to stop children falling through gaps in the system. Children will be able to be treated by all three agencies under one roof rather than in different offices or even different parts of town. Starship needs another $100,000 to refurbish its part of the building before the centre can open in August.
Appeal details: Safe and Sound Appeal donation envelopes will be delivered to Auckland households from Monday. Donations can be made online at the Starship website or sent to Freepost Safe and Sound Appeal, PO Box 91939, Auckland Mail Centre.

12 January

In the January 4 issue of NZ Truth and TV Extra it was reported:

I'M NOT ONE TO GOSSIP BUT . . . LUCY LAWLESS has turned down a big-bucks offer from Playboy magazine to bare all for its pages. She recently said she believed the publication asked every woman in showbusiness.

So she laughed off the proposal. But I hear her US representatives were tickled by it. I also hear they are going to come back to Lucy with another, even bigger, offer. But our Lucy is a class act so maybe she'll turn them down again.

Lucy attended the premiere of Spy Game and was asked if she would prefer Brad Pitt or Robert Redford. Lucy's answer?

"Oh ... no, no, no," said Lucy Lawless when asked to make the choice. Sounding more like a politician than a warrior princess, she answered, "I'll take whichever one."

The New Zealand Herald reported that the July annual appeal during which $3 Star Bears were sold and a champagne Bollinger ball in September.   TVNZ broadcaster Angela D'Audney, television star Lucy Lawless, entertainer Sir Howard Morrison and actor Temuera Morrison also backed the appeal, which raised about $4 million.

Lucy missed out on the Bollinger ball as she was stranded in LA after the September 11 attacks. See below from The Sunday Star Times

Actress Lucy Lawless missed the Champagne Bollinger Ball in Auckland last night, after she was stranded in Los Angeles because of the terrorist drama. From People Magazine - 12 October 2001

New Zealand actress Lucy Lawless celebrated her first Thanksgiving in the U.S. with producer-husband Rob Tapert and their 2-year-old son Julius at their L.A. home. (Her daughter Daisy, 13, from her first marriage, is in boarding school in New Zealand.) Lawless tells us that she wasn't allowed in the kitchen--except to clean--while Rob and his brother Jeff, a professional chef, did all the cooking.

From Entertainment Weekly - 5 December 2001

BABY BOOM Ex-Xena Lucy Lawless and her husband, ex-''Xena: Warrior Princess'' producer Rob Tapert, are about to produce another little warrior prince or princess. The couple have a 2-year-old son, Julius; Lawless, 33, also has a 13-year-old daughter, Daisy, from a previous marriage. The new baby, whose sex has not been announced, is due in late April or early May. Perhaps not coincidentally, Lawless' publicist says she's not planning on returning to ''The X-Files'' to reprise her guest-starring role from this season's two-part opener, as an amphibious super soldier....

Lucy has gone to another film screening - this time it's for The special screening  "The Affair of the Necklace," a saga of celebrity and sex, greed and desire, corruption and temptation. Set in the waning years of the 18th Century, this provocative film tells the story of how one woman's quest for honor caused a scandal and brought down a kingdom.

The wonderful news coming out of the recent ET mini interview with Lucy is that she's expecting her third child on April 27, 2002. In her interview Lucy indicated that the baby is fine and she will be considering a water birth similar to Julius' birth two years ago. The other big news is she cut her hair to shoulder length (see ET grabs) and she is looking absolutely smashing.

The following is from Mist at Sword & Staff

Just want to give everyone a Starship ``Monopoly update. Lucy has signed the games and they are enroute to Sword and Staff (85 boxes coming via cargo ship). They should be delivered on or about November 11th. Starship will be sending one game via air mail so I can get the postage and packaging sorted out. I do know that they weigh about 1.5 kg each (3.3 lbs), so that will cost $6.45 to ship via priority. I will give the buyer the option of buying postal insurance on the package as well. The decision to insure the package will be left up to each buyer. I will post the costs of insurance at a later date.

I will send out an email to every person who pre-ordered a game with information and the order form attached. I will also post the order form to the Sword and Staff website as soon as I know all the postal costs, to allow you to fill in the sheet and send it off to me.

Starship has requested that wherever possible we use credit cards instead of checks, so I ask that if at all possible that you charge the games on Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Diners Club.  If you do send checks, they must be banks checks or money orders payable in US$. Personal checks and postal money orders will not be accepted and will be returned to the sender.

There are still some autographed games available for anyone who might want to order one. If you would like a game, please contact me privately at MistNY@aol.com and I will add you to the list of those getting a game.

For those who asked, I will be raffling off some of the Monopoly games with proceeds going to Starship. Those tickets will be 3 tickets for US$10 and I will draw a signed game for each $100 in donations I receive. Your chances of winning will be 1 in 10. If you would like to participate in that raffle, please send a check or money order for US$10 payable to Starship Foundation and mail it to Sword and Staff, P.O. Box 224, Floral Park, NY 11002, USA.  Please include a SASE (self-addressed, stamped envelope) with your ticket order so that I can return the tickets to you.

Thanks again to everyone for their support, and as soon as I have the info on postage costs, I will send you all a note as well as post the order form to the Sword and Staff site.

Best,

Mist

In The Vagina Monologues, Eve Ensler has given voice to a chorus of lusty, outrageous, poignant, brave, highly original and thoroughly human stories.  Based on interviews with a diverse group of women – from a Long Island antique dealer to a Bosnian refugee – the play brazenly explores the humor, power, pain, wisdom, outrage, mystery and excitement hidden in vaginas.  Having seen The Vagina Monologues, no one – woman or man – will ever look at the world the same way again.
