Oil On Canvas Exhibition Opening The
Oil On Canvas exhibition opened in Auckland on 12 December 2011. It is a
memorial to the 20,000 birds killed by the Rena oil spill in the Bay of
Plenty and a warning against the much greater risk that deep sea oil
drilling poses in NZ waters. The prints were created using the body of a
little blue penguin dipped in the oil that killed it following the Rena
disaster.
