Lucy Keeps Up The Spring Cleaning - Message from Starship

To our world-wide Lucy Lawless supporters,

We've been overwhelmed with the response we've had from around the world on the Xena costume items in our Starship Spring Clean.  The auctions continue until 30th September at www.trademe.co.nz/starship.

Thanks to all of you we're already well on our way to raising a fantastic sum for Starship Children's Hospital - one of Lucy's favourite causes. Lucy has spoken to us on a regular basis during the campaign and wants to encourage everyone to continue to bid hard on the Xena costumes for Starship.

Starship Spring Clean has caught the imagination of New Zealand and we thought we'd let you know a few other interesting things that we've learned along the way:

  • The 'If the Shoe Fits' dress was listed as being worn by Renee O'Connor.  However Lucy has just told us that there were two identical dresses for this episode and this one was actually hers!  We may be able to change the listing details shortly, but we can promise you this is actually Lucy's dress and wanted to let you be the first to know this.

  • We now have Letters of Authenticity for all the outfits.   Lucy has signed these letters and even handwritten some personal notes for the lucky bidders!

  • Lucy also appeared this past week in a half-hour documentary about the work of Starship.  In this programme you can see Lucy at home sorting out the costumes for the auction, towards the end of the programme.  See the clip here: http://tvnz.co.nz/asia-downunder/s2010-e28-video-3784035

  • Finally, for those of you interested in the Dangerous Prey outfit - Lucy actually borrowed this costume back from us just last week for a photo shoot she was in.  So we can tell you that Lucy has very recently worn this actual costume!

Thanks again to those of you around the world helping support New Zealand kids.  Lucy thanks you from the bottom of her heart.
