Photos: Wonder Woman, Xena and Lucy Flashback

Here’s some pretty cool photos ranging from the “fixing” of the new Wonder Woman outfit, a spectacular photo manip of Xena on Gal’s Wonder Woman body and a throwback to 2003!

Lucy Tweets About Gal as Wonder Woman

There has been a LOT of chatter about the new Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) and specifically that she looks like Xena (her outfit resembles Xena rather than what we are used to). Here’s Lucy’s tweet and a couple of other tweets that made me smile from Xena fans (very funny). I’m waiting to see how Gal handles the role

More About Lucy’s Role on Agents of SHIELD as Isabelle Hartley

Slowly slowly the information is trickling out about Lucy's role as Isabelle Hartley (not Elizabeth Hartley as first reported on twitter). The following is from HitFix.com and is an interview with the executive producers of AOS, Maurissa Tancharoen and Jed Whedon.

Maurissa wrote for Spartacus: Gods of the Arena for one episode "Missio" along with Jed Whedon. Jed also wrote for Spartacus: War of the Damned episodes: Spoils of War and Balance

HitFix interviews the pair and this is what we find out about Lucy's role:

  • "[She's] a SHIELD agent, longtime SHIELD agent, so she has a history with Coulson (The former agent now Director of SHIELD)
  • How long is Lucy's role in Season 2? Maurissa says it's "an arc" so that means a few episodes!

They talk about Lucy:

  • "She's great, she's badass, she's everything that we love [about] Lucy Lawless. We've been huge fans of hers and we worked with her on 'Spartacus,' so we're just thrilled that she's joining us."

Watch the video here and the full AOS Panel at Comic Con can be found below - the announcement by Maurissa can be found at 12:28 into the video:

SDCC Update: Lucy’s Role on AGENTS OF SHIELD Revealed

The official Agents of Shield Twitter has confirmed that Lucy's role for Season 2 of AOS is Elizabeth Hartley (or Isabel Hartley by some tweets but I'll go with Elizabeth since that's the name they used on the AOS Twitter)

The Hollywood Reporter says:

Among the revelations to the Comic-Con crowd: confirmation that Lucy Lawless will be coming on board the ABC series as a longtime SHIELD veteran.

"She's tough. She may have a knife that's always by her side," said executive producer Maurissa Tancharoen.

Lucy Lawless in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D for Season 2

Image635416104986665705TV Guide has just announced that Lucy will be heading to the Marvel show Agents of S.H.E.I.L.D for Season 2. - We don't know if Lucy will be joining the show as a regular role, or it's a guest role. The San Diego Comic Con is approaching and we will find out more from the con.

TVLine speculates that:

Though details on Lawless' character -- or the length of the gig -- have not been disclosed (surprise, surprise!), S.H.I.E.L.D. has been looking to fill the recurring role of "Mary Maloney," a highly skilled agent who can "command any room" (andboasts "effortless sex appeal"). A possible fit? Survey says...a definite maybe.

What is "Climate Voter"?
Being a Climate Voter means you care about climate change and you want all political parties to do something about it. It means you want real action on climate change and you're prepared to use your vote to get it. It says you support strategies to rapidly phase out fossil fuels and grow New Zealand's clean energy and low-carbon potential.

Climate Voter is a non-partisan initiative powered by an alliance of New Zealand organisations. It aims to empower climate concerned citizens to use their vote in the September 2014 election to make a difference for the good of present and future generations.
In the lead up to the election we will be asking political parties where they stand on key elements of climate related policy with a #ClimateVoter question of the week. Near election day we will host a live debate between all major political parties inviting them to convince Climate Voters that their party will take real action on climate change.

From Lucy to Lego–Greenpeace Builds Noble Discoverer in Lego Save The Arctic Protest

lego6

Greenpeace New Zealand recreates a protest scene with LEGO figures. The model is a replica of the Noble Discoverer drillship which was occupied by Greenpeace activists and actor Lucy Lawless in February, 2012 for 77 hours as it was getting ready to depart the Port of Taranaki in New Zealand to start drilling for Shell in the Arctic. Greenpeace is urging LEGO to cut ties with Shell and help 'Save the Arctic." For the last few years Shell has been using LEGO?s brand to clean up its image as an Arctic oil driller. 16 million Shell branded LEGO sets have been sold or given away at petrol stations in 26 countries.

THE DEBT

Part 1
Season 3, Episode 6
04 July 1998

Reviewed by Sheryl-Lee Kerr

RATING: 9.5 chakrams.

SCRIBES & SCROLLS:

Written by R.J. Stewart;
Edited by Robert Field;
Directed by Oley Sassone.

PASSING PARADE:
Jacqueline Kim (Lao Ma);
Marton Csokas (Borias);
Grant McFarland (Ming Tzu);
Daniel Sing (Older Ming Tien);
Daniel Lim (Younger Ming Tien).

STORY SO FAR:

Xena receives a message asking her to go to the Land of Chin to “make the green dragon (a young ruler called Ming Tien) small again”. Xena wants to leave Gabrielle behind and, to explain why, recounts her years spent with the warlord Borias (who fathered Solan). The pair plan to steal from the wealthy Chinese houses - but, in doing so, Xena meets a remarkable woman. In the present day, Xena heads off on her journey alone but is captured during her assassination attempt, thanks to intervention by Gabrielle who is opposed to Xena's mission.

DISCLAIMER:
No frock tarts were killed during the production of this motion picture although they wish they had been. (eh?!)

REWIND FOR:

The world’s only self-saddling horse, Argo (unless she sleeps in a saddle?) at the opening scene; the first ever game of tic tac toe (albeit yet to be perfected as the two-player version we know today!); the Great Wall of China’s first appearance 300 before it was actually built; an Indiana Jones ending for a showoff swordsman; note that the chess piece Ming Tien is holding when he is kidnapped by Xena is, aptly, a pawn; Xena promising Borias 5% of 50 horses. (You wouldn’t to be there when she hands over the remaining half of a horse); the underwater scene which reveals where Xena picked up CPR from in Is There A Doctor in the House; Xena’s jump from water level that beats all her old records (nice commando greasepaint by the way - er, explain again why you have to be nearly naked to kill someone?); the creepy ambience of the bird cage scene; the look between Gabrielle and Xena in the final moment.... ah, heck, rewind the whole thing...

QUOTABLE:
“Ok let’s forget the cryptic part.” - finally, someone (Gabrielle) demands clarification from the enigmatic Xena;

“I’m glad I could help you get a good deal on the things you need to commit a murder,” Gabrielle now probably wishing she hadn’t asked for the details.

“Kill ‘em all? That was obviously your answer to everything in those days.” Gabrielle works out why Xena doesn’t reminisce much.

“They say you’re a dangerous woman.” Lao Ma making polite chit chat with Xena.

“Fill yourself up with desire and see only illusion. Empty yourself of desire and understand the great mystery of things.” Lao Ma, showing she actually never really was one for small talk.

“I have been blessed or cursed with the ability to look at the souls of others. You don’t know it yet Xena; you are a remarkable woman.” Lao Ma rendering Xena speechless. Again.

“My lord, I would never hide what is yours.” Lao Ma to Ming Tzu. It’s not so much a great line as much as how it shows Lao Ma has used it to avoid telling a lie. It’s true, Xena never was Ming Tzu’s, even if she was caught by him. Clever line.
