Stephen Kay (Get Carter) directs a cast headed by Xena's Lucy Lawless, Barry Watson (Sorority Boys, 7th Heaven), Emily Deschanel (Cold Mountain) and Tory Mussett (Matrix Reloaded).

Other Kiwi stars include Charles Mesure, Philip Gordon, Louise Wallace and Robyn Malcolm, Apart from DOP Bobby Bukowski (Arlington Road, Dogfight), the crew is all NZ. Robert Gillies is the production designer, Jane Holland the costume designer and Chloe Smith the line producer.

Meanwhile, the extensive visual effects work, including the creation of the Boogeyman, is being done by Silverscreen offshoot Oktobor. Tapert says he brought Boogeyman to NZ because of his time here with shows such as Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, Cleopatra 2525 and Jack of All Trades. "I got to know and work with a tremendously talented crew and I wanted to replicate that great experience."
