"I'm delighted to help kick off this event which promotes, health, pride and community spirit. Boy, the world could sure use a whole lot more of that," said the actress who hails from New Zealand, and has continued to wow fans all over the world with her commitment to roles that appeal to her sense of fun and adventure.  Her credits include, Boogeyman, Spiderman, Ugly Americans, Just Shoot Me, X-Files, and Xena the Animated Movie.

The race, open to everyone, will start at 8:00 a.m. on Santa Monica Boulevard at Robertson Boulevard.  Race categories include 5K and 10K runs and a 5K walk.  Awards will be presented to the top male and female finishers in each category (5K/10K runs and 5K walk), plus the top 3 male and female finishers in various age group categories.

Post race, there will be a raffle and registrants can win prizes including three pairs of k.d. lang concert tickets.  Proceeds from the race will benefit Project Angel Food and Gay and Lesbian Adolescent Social Services (GLASS).  Volunteers are welcome from the community.  Registration forms can be downloaded at

“We are delighted to be celebrating the 23rd Annual Pride Run, the largest gay and lesbian sporting event in Southern California, once again in the heart of West Hollywood,” said Don Thompson, President of Frontrunners of Los Angeles.

“Besides the obvious health advantage, taking part in the run is also an excellent way to secure parking for the day, since street parking is easy at that time,” said Guillermo Jaimes, Race Director.  “Showers are also available, and you’ll get a head start for the day’s activities, including the parade.”

Los Angeles Frontrunners participates in competitive and non-competitive running events; assists members with their running goals; and promotes camaraderie among gay men and women, and the running community.
